Dr. Katie Graves

Veterinarian
I graduated in veterinary medicine from the University of Calgary (class of 2015). Growing up on a farm, I have always enjoyed all animals, large and small. Since childhood, I knew I wanted to be a part of the veterinary profession with the ultimate goal of trying to help animals live their best possible life. I joined Lomsnes Veterinary Clinic in 2018 and really enjoy working with the excellent staff here. Everyone is positive and willing to help which makes for a nice atmosphere. I also like the clinic pets that are wandering around looking for any parcel of food they can get their paws on. The area of veterinary medicine that interests me the most is small animal internal medicine. My first pet was a quarter horse named Barney, who is still alive and giving my nieces and nephews rides today! I really love the variety of my job - every day is different with a healthy variation of animals (exotics, cats, dogs) and cases. I love seeing my patients, especially when they are feeling healthy. A fun fact about myself? Going to veterinary school I enjoyed working with all animals - cows, horses, dogs and cats, but surprisingly, I actually found a chinchilla to be my favourite!
