Dr. Carli Chalmers

Veterinarian

I was one of those kids that has always been an animal lover, read all the James Herriott books cover to cover multiple times, and had an interest in veterinary medicine from the time I knew that was an option. During my undergraduate degree, I worked at a raptor rescue and rehabilitation organization and my interest in medicine became a passion!

I graduated from the University of Calgary Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in 2012 and have had the good fortune to gain experience in a variety of clinical settings including mixed animal practice, small animal ambulatory practice and shelter medicine prior to joining the team full time at Lomsnes Veterinary Hospital.

I am passionate about low stress handling in the clinic, and try to make your pet's visit as calm and comfortable as it can be. I love connecting with clients and coming up with care plans that make sense for you!. I am curious by nature and really enjoy the problem solving part of veterinary medicine.

When I am not at the vet clinic, I love spending time with my partner, two young kids and our adopted doggos. We are an active family that loves to get outside, whether on the local paths or out to the mountains. I also love running, yoga and spending time in the garden.
